KASSANDRA / CHALKIDIKI TRAVEL GUIDE (THESSALONIKI/ GREECE)
You know how much I love exploring Greece, so I was beyond excited to discover a completely new region this time: Kassandra in Chalkidiki. Located just about an hour from Thessaloniki, it's known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, beautiful beach clubs, charming villages, and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
This trip was a super fun girls' getaway, and instead of spending time in Thessaloniki, we decided to head straight to Kassandra and make the most of our long weekend by the sea. It turned out to be the perfect choice for a relaxing escape filled with amazing food, stunning beaches, and unforgettable sunsets.
If you're planning a trip, I highly recommend renting a car. While you can get around by taxi, having your own car gives you so much more flexibility to explore different beaches, beach clubs, and restaurants at your own pace. It's definitely something I would do again on my next visit.
One thing we learned during our stay: make reservations in advance - especially if you're traveling as a group during the summer months. The most popular beach clubs and restaurants book up quickly, and having everything reserved beforehand will save you a lot of stress and ensure you don't miss out on the places you really want to visit.

MY FAV SPOTS in Kassandra
Alma Beach
This new stylish beach club is located on the west side of the peninsula and already now a hotspot. There is no minimum consumption but you’re simply paying for the beach chairs depending on the location (50€ to 30€). We really liked their food, the showers (perfect if you’re going to the airport after) & as the atmosphere with a live DJ playing.
Bakalis
We wanted to enjoy dinner directly at the seaside and were so happy we found this amazing restaurant serving a big variation of Greek plates and fresh fish. You’re sitting directly next to the water so you can enjoy the beautiful sunset over their tasty food. We shared their fish platter (which was huge!), salads and of course tzatziki.
The Garden
While we wandered around Hanioti we realized it’s pretty hard to find something nice to eat before 1pm (somehow there were not really breakfast spots, as the Greeks probably prefer their local bakeries) but luckily we found this lovely local tavern serving delicious Greek food in a beautiful atmosphere. Everything was really tasty!
Octo SeaSide Bar Restaurant
This beach club actually belongs to a hotel so it’s kind of a secret tip to come here. We really enjoyed the ambiance, comfortable beach chairs, tasty food & drinks as well as the music. The pool is not open for outside hotel guests but otherwise you can enjoy the whole area for the entrance of 5€ plus the minimum consumption of 40€. We really like it!
Leuki Ammos Beach bar
Lovely beach club with nice service where you can enjoy a full day in the sun. The minimum consumption depends on the row you’re choosing (for us it was 40€ per person) which you can use for food and drinks. The music gets louder in the later afternoon so the vibe is pretty relaxed until then. I would recommend to reserve!
